Application deadline: 01/09/2019 23:59 (CET)
Description of event: Youth civil society has played an active role in advancing the youth rights agenda by advocating for the fulfillment, recognition and advancement of youth rights on a global level. However, more can be done to ensure greater engagement from Regional Youth Platforms as well as International Youth NGOs in the youth rights debate, as well as in advocacy for youth rights globally.

The European Youth Forum has been supporting youth organisations to engage with the UN human rights system, such as through the Universal Periodic Review (UPR), the Treaty Bodies as well as the work of the Human Rights Council. In order to bring a global perspective to the youth rights discussion and to engage young people and their representative organisations in the promotion of youth rights regionally and globally, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and the European Youth Forum are organising the event “Mobilising the global youth movement #ForYouthRights”.

The event will bring together youth rights stakeholders and representatives of youth organisations at global level, with the aim to:
- Build the capacity of youth organisations to promote youth rights by engaging with human rights mechanisms;
- Establish links between youth organisations and stakeholders in the UN system to foster closer cooperation;
- Increase the involvement of youth organisations in youth rights discussions and human rights processes at UN level.
